For the past 2 weekends, I have been busy getting tons of bath bombs made for Christmas giving. When I added up my list of recipients and figured out how many bath bombs they were each getting, it came to slightly over 100.
That frightened me a little bit because that is a LOT of bath bombs (for me to make) and Christmas is coming soon! So I got busy and attacked the task head-on. Continue reading “Christmas Bath Bomb Round-Up”
Christmas is fast approaching. It will be here before we know it! This year, I am gifting many bath bombs, lotions and a few soaps.
When I add up the number of bath bombs I need for my gifting list, it comes to about 108. That is a LOT of bath bombs. I decided to get an early start and get these done so I wouldn’t be in a rush as the holiday approaches. This weekend I got 4 batches done, for a total of about 45 — so almost half way there! I wasn’t feeling terribly motivated or organized this weekend, so I just kind of made it up as I went along . I started out with no plan at all, but ended up making a few cute things to share today.
Friday night I thought I would start out with something very simple so I opted for some melt and pour soaps — but not just “any” melt and pour soaps. These are for the kids for Halloween.
Then Saturday, I felt like sewing. I recently bought some new makeup and found that my makeup is all over the place, floating around in my bathroom drawer. So I sewed myself some cosmetic bags to organize them.
Today, despite my pitifully inadequate bathtub — I felt like taking a soaking bath. Since I have no bath bombs of my own, I made some just for me.

Along with the two soaps I made this weekend, I also got 6 batches of mondo bath bombs done for my sister’s upcoming birthday. Last weekend I made one more, so that is a total of 7 batches (at 7 to 8 bombs each) for a grand total of 51 bath bombs! If that is not a happy birthday, then I don’t know what is!
To be fair though, she doesn’t get to keep all of them. She has two daughters and three grand-daughters to share with. She gets a lot of enjoyment, though, from being the one who is the “keeper of the bath bomb stash”. Continue reading “It’s beginning to look a lot like “birthday””
Have you ever had one of those weekends when everything you did just turned out 100% perfect, or even better than you imagined? Well, I didn’t have one of those, but it was almost that! I only had one thing that didn’t turn out to my liking. All the rest of them met or exceeded my expectations!
I did a lot of things this weekend; three batches of soap, two lotions and bath bombs. I was quite busy, but now that it’s over, and I put all my stuff away, I feel like I got some good recreation time in.
So let’s start out with what didn’t turn out like I expected and go from there (we’ll get that one out-of-the-way). 🙂 Continue reading “Five Outta Six Ain’t Bad”
Inspired by a recent post by SoapQueen (See here for her Irridescent Pearl Bath Bombs), and knowing I have a visit soon with my sister and her daughters, I got the brilliant (although not terribly original) idea to make “mermaid eggs”.
My niece recently took her young family to Florida. One of the highlights of their trip was that she hired a “real-live-mermaid” to frolic at the ocean with the little girls. Thinking back to when I was a little girl, I would have absolutely loved this, and it would have been a memory I would have carried with me through my whole life.
