Whew! What a week I had at work. I was so glad it was Friday, I just couldn’t wait to get started making some body butters and lotions for my Christmas giftees.
Unfortunately, I had a few chores which ate into my time a little bit, and my husband caught a cold, so he slept in later than usual, which also limited the amount of time I had. Luckily, since I started early (Friday night) I was at least able to get four things made this weekend before running out of time. I made large batches this time, so even though I made only 4 things, there ended up being 9 jars/bottles in all!

Besides making soap this weekend, I also made quite a bit of lotion.
In my last post, I talked about my experience with Wheatgerm Oil Soap and said I would comment some more on my experiment with Wheatgerm Oil Conditioner. You will find that below.
On Friday, I published an entry about my experiment with making a redness concealer.
Saturday, I made a refill of my Tsunami lotion, because I already used up 16 ounces that I made a couple of months ago.
And today, I made a new lotion, using Nurture Soap’s “Black Pearl” fragrance. Continue reading “New Lotion, Conditioner and Refills (and something new for the apothecary)”
Who doesn’t love a rich, creamy, decadent body butter?
What if it also had lanolin and a host of other skin-loving goodies in it as well? It would be a fantastic foot butter, great for dry skin and feet!
But wait — there’s more! What if it also contained oils, butter and emulsifiers that were great for your hair! It would also function as a thick, intensive hair conditioning cream!
Better yet — below is a free recipe for this wonderful creation! Continue reading “Free Recipe – Lavender, Rosemary & Mint Foot, Body and Hair Butter”
Today I am thrilled to share that my new book, “Luscious Lotions, Decadent Creams and Nourishing Conditioners” has been published on the Amazon.com Kindle Store.

Wow, I don’t know how time flies so fast! I blinked my eyes and just like magic, it is Sunday night already!
Yesterday it was cloudy and rainy, so I spent most of the day taking pictures of the lotions I had made last weekend. I only had time left to make one lotion last night.
Then today, I made 3 more lotions and managed to get some “draft” photos of them. It was sunny again, so that always makes my camera non-compliant. Continue reading “Four Successful Lovely Lotions and Conditioners”
It was my husband’s birthday this weekend. As such, I didn’t get as much done as I do most weekends, but it is also important to spend time with those that you love. Luckily, my husband is an artist and during some of the time he spent with me, we worked together on photographing my products. 🙂 Continue reading “More progress and some revisits”
After a brief pause from soap making, I am back. A couple of soaps finally cured and came off the drying rack, making room for more. It’s a good thing too because I am almost out of my favorite Pink Grapefruit Swirl shampoo bars and needed to make more. As it is, I might have to go without for a couple weeks while this soap finishes curing. Continue reading “Soaping again…A re-stock of Pink Grapefruit Swirl Shampoo Bars”
