This weekend was spent doing something different. I have been making soaps and lotions for so long, that my sewing fell behind schedule. I was able to catch it up this weekend, though, and I am just two projects short of being done.
To round out my gift to my sister and her girls when I go see them in a couple of weeks, I make them some cute pillowcases and cell phone wristlet purses.
I have made these for them many times before, but they so look forward every year to getting a new one. Continue reading “Something a little bit different”
I am so excited to announce that I have published my fourth Kindle book, Home Spa Formulary: Versatile Recipes for Bath, Body and Home. Read on for details.

Hooray! I am finally done with all my 56 remakes and am moving on to the next phase! It took months, and some things had to be made more than once, but my persistence has finally paid off.
With this little candle, I am now done, and so happy to be starting next weekend with taking my final pictures of everything. Continue reading “And, we have reached the finish line!”
It was my husband’s birthday this weekend. As such, I didn’t get as much done as I do most weekends, but it is also important to spend time with those that you love. Luckily, my husband is an artist and during some of the time he spent with me, we worked together on photographing my products. 🙂 Continue reading “More progress and some revisits”
Yes, this site is still about soap making. No, I haven’t posted many soap blog entries lately. It has been so busy over the holidays and now I am busy at work. My soap rack is full from my last soaping sessions, so I have been taking the time to catch up on a few other chores around here. Continue reading “Not much soaping going on…but…”
As I post this, I am aware that most people post vacation photos of their family on the beach, or at Disneyland. My vacation photos are composed of my accomplishments and creations instead. I don’t think this is strange at all. When I was younger I travelled a lot, but now that I am older, I enjoy staying at home and making things instead. We are where we are at in life, I guess, and my happy place is at home. Continue reading “Vacation is over, but it was a productive one!”
I have always dreamed of having an apothecary. It is something I have wanted since I was a teen ager. I never had the money or the space to do this — until now! No, it looks nothing like I pictured, and it contains an awful lot of soap making stuff that wasn’t part of the equation, but it is getting there. Now if my dear hubby builds me some proper apothecary shelves, I think we will be in business!
It’s a few days into vacation and I still have not had time to make many things. I have been shopping for containers, had a dental appointment, had to do my regular chores and ended up going grocery shopping. All that ate up a full 2 days of my vacation already. It’s Wednesday and I have only made a couple of things (so in other words, I am NOT on schedule).
Part of what I have been doing is picking away at organizing my soaping bath & body supplies. I recently bought more supplies to keep me busy on vacation and to refill some of my low stock. I was running out of places to stash all my stuff, and I couldn’t find anything anymore. So what started out as a simple “unpack the new boxes”, ended up being a “rearrange everything” exercise.
