After all that shopping yesterday, I am wiped out! Luckily it isn’t very hard (nor does it take too much energy) to make soap!
Today, for my final two vacation soaps, I gave the lard another try. I made two batches with the same recipe (just slight modifications to it for each). Continue reading “Final Two Vacation Soaps”
It’s the mid-way through vacation already, but I feel like I have already begun to amass a week’s worth of crafting (so that is a sign of a well-spent vacation!).
Today I was quite busy as I made two soaps and a lotion. I also managed to get a couple of the malas I made for my husband photographed as well. Continue reading “Wednesday Vacation Power!”
It’s finally vacation and I have adequate time to devote to refilling all the stuff I made and now can’t live without!
Today I had a busy day making refills — so many refills!

Finally, I found LARD! The much beloved, blogged, and admired soap making fatty acid!
For the longest time I have been looking for it, but have not been able to find lard or tallow locally. HOWEVER, I was looking by the meats and in the refrigerated section of the store. Turns out, it is not stored there. They store it by the Mexican food on one of the international food aisles.
Regardless, I was able to score a couple of containers of it, so right away, I wanted to try to make some soap with it to see what all the fuss was about! Continue reading “Glorious Lard!”
There was a little experimental soap making on my mind ever since I thought a few weeks ago about adding Rooibos tea to a soap recipe. This weekend I took on the challenge! Continue reading “Experimental Rooibos Tea Soap with Diatomaceous Earth”
Here in the U.S., it is a big holiday this week — Thanksgiving. The day after Thanksgiving, of course, is “Black Friday” — the day where businesses offer large discounts to entice Christmas shoppers.
I am going to run a Black Friday sale this year on all my e-books on Amazon.com.
The sale starts Thursday, 24 November at 5 AM Pacific / 8 AM Eastern and runs until 27 November at 8 PM Pacific / 11 PM Eastern.
All my e-books will be 67% off during this time. This means that you can pick them up at a steep discount for this limited time.
I occasionally make a goat-milk soap that is just “plain jane” (no colorants, fragrance, etc). It was because of the plain nature of it that I decided to call the soap “Jane“.
I have begun making my soaps palm free, however, so my old recipe had to be re-done. This one is palm free and I call her “Ethical Jane”.
