Hooray! My vacation has been semi-approved due to a delay in our project at work! It’s good news (because I get to take vacation this week) and bad news (because I really didn’t think I was going to get to take the time off, so I didn’t adquately prepare). Also, it’s only semi-vacation because I am sort of “on-call” so if stuff starts hitting the fan I may get called back in. Continue reading “Special Delivery”
As every vacation does, this one went by far to quickly. I can’t believe it’s been a week already, but when I look back at all I accomplished in that week, I feel like I spent my time well.
This post is a round-up of all the things I made all week – this time with much better pictures. 🙂
Monday is here already and I am in full swing, making BIG messes of my kitchen!
I had mixed success today, with a few successes and a few failures.
Let’s start with the biggest failure — Experimental Surfactant Facial Scrub.
FINALLY it’s vacation again. It’s been a long, busy few months since I’ve had one. I couldn’t wait to get a head start on this, my first night of vacation!
Since I have been knitting and not making bath/body/soap for a while, I have no gifts made up yet for my sister’s birthday in August. Luckily I still have a little time before then, so I am going to use a large part of this vacation to play “catch-up” and get a good start on all the things I want to make for her (and my nieces).
Sadly, another Christmas vacation is now behind me, but what a time I had! I had two weeks of glorious freedom! While it did take a little while for me to get my muse focused, it did actually happen — eventually.
For the first week, I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out what I felt like doing. It was cold and snowy (I got my wish for a White Christmas!). I didn’t feel much like making lotion or soap — I just couldn’t get into washing all those dishes and getting wet when it was so cold out. So I decided to start out with sewing and see if that was what my muse wanted to do.
Hi all! I have been away for a couple of weeks. I needed a break from work and from book writing, and maybe a little bit from creating too. I took 2 weeks to do just “whatever” instead of having a plan. Sometimes that is good for the soul!
My plans were somewhat interrupted due to the recent hurricanes and preparations for the next ones. This made me have a “working vacation” since it caused some extra work at work. At least I got to enjoy some free time in between “on call” events.
I started out last weekend with a quick visit “up north” to see my sister, nieces, and deliver all the goodies I have been making them. It was a nice trip, a beautiful day, and very enjoyable. Needless to say everything I gifted them was well-received. Especially the bath bombs — always the bath bombs! Continue reading “Menagerie – Vacation Round-Up”
With another great vacation behind me, I wanted to do a quick wrap up of all the fun I had. I love to look back over my creations and see the fruits of my labors all in one place. It is too easy to forget all the ground you covered otherwise! Continue reading “June 2017 Vacation Round-Up / Slideshow”
